OPEC’s Chief Petroleum Industry Analyst

As OPEC’s Chief Petroleum Industry Analyst, with over 2 decades of work experience Engr. Irene Etiobhio is contributing her extensive knowledge in research operations across strategy execution, global energy policies, supply and demand modelling/ forecast, commodity analysis, and the development of knowledge products on oil and gas for establishing African Energy Domestic Market. Prior to joining OPEC, Engr. Etiobhio had over 12 years’ experience working with the Nigerian National Oil Company Limited (NNPCL) as Chief supervisor in the upstream sector including oil contracts and evaluation, federal oil production monitoring and supervision. She has authored multiple research studies including Long Term Energy Perspectives for Africa, Investment Requirements for the African Energy Sector, Strategies of National oil Companies considering the Energy Transition, Energy Transitions Risks, Limits and Challenges amongst others. Engr. Etiobhio holds a B. Eng in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Benin Edo State Nigeria, MSc. Petroleum Economics and Management at the France Institute of Petroleum (IFP) Paris- France, MBA from the University of Lagos, Lagos State Nigeria, and a MSc. in International Relations, Strategy and Security at the Neapolis University of Cyprus Europe. She is a member of the Royal Institute of International Affairs United Kingdom (Chatham House) and the CEO of ELVACAF an NGO with a mission to eradicate hunger in Africa.
