Prof.Bamidele Adebisi
Professor of Intelligent Infrastructure Systems, Manchester Metropolitan University
Prof.Dr.Bamidele Adebisi is Professor of Intelligent Infrastructure Systems and Head of the Smart Infrastructure and Industry Research (SIIR) Group in the Department of Engineering at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU). His work centers on embedding sensing, communication, control and data-analytics technologies into critical infrastructure such as energy, buildings and transport. He holds a Ph.D. in Communication Systems and a Master’s in Advanced Mobile Communication Engineering from Lancaster University, UK, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria. Prior to his current role, he was a Senior Research Associate at Lancaster, and has since led and participated in numerous high-profile, multi?partner projects spanning smart cities, micro?grids, peer?to?peer energy trading and Internet of Things applications. Among his key achievements, Prof. Adebisi was awarded an MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in the King’s Honors list for his outstanding contributions to knowledge transfer. He was also part of a UK Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) that won the Best KTP Project of the Year Award in 2020. His leadership extends to serving as Vice Chair of the IEEE Communications Society Technical Committee on Power Line Communications (TC?PLC) and contributing to global forums on smart infrastructure and hydrogen technology.
