CEO Green Power Brains

Michele Velenderic is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Green Power Brains, a renewable-energy company that develops turnkey mini-grids and green hydrogen systems. In his current role, he leads strategy, project development, digitalization, and operations for the company’s global activities. His work enables the design, construction, and automation of sustainable energy systems tailored for off-grid and semi-urban communities. Before launching Green Power Brains, Velenderic built experience in sustainable energy consulting, systems engineering, and research. He has worked closely with academic institutions and applied-research laboratories, contributing to energy-technology development, automation, and capacity-building projects. His technical knowledge spans solar PV, hydrogen electrolyze integration, mini-grid design, and system monitoring. Among his notable achievements, Michele led Green Power Brains in the successful deployment of a decentralized green-hydrogen system integrated into a solar mini-grid in Tema, Ghana. He has also co-authored scientific work on hydrogen-based storage systems in sub-Saharan Africa, including a study on the life-cycle assessment of sodium-nickel-chloride batteries applied to Ghanaian mini-grids. Under his leadership, Green Power Brains secured funding for training, research and innovation projects such as a EUR 2.16 million SIFA-backed green-hydrogen mini-grid training program at KNUST in Ghana.
